Level 1
This level is for beginners and students who need or prefer a gentle yoga class. Level 1 classes introduce the student to Anusara Yoga and the traditional principles of body alignment, scientific breathing techniques, and deep relaxation skills. These classes are geared more towards mindful, slow and gentle stretching, emphasizing the value of breath while working with gentle variations and modifications to the full posture.
Students generally choose Level 1 classes because they wish to get a solid foundation of alignment, are physically challenged from illness, injury or inactivity or because they want to take time refining their yoga techniques.
Level 1 Alignment: These classes are designed for the beginner or the experienced yogi who wants to renew and review the elements of Anusara Yoga. We will go over in-depth all the basic elements of “The Universal Principles of Alignment”. The student will learn basic Hatha Yoga breathing techniques.
Level 1 Restorative: This class is the gentlest class that I offer. We use postures and breathing techniques that will deeply restore your energy and help you to release stress. The postures are supported and held for longer periods of time.
Level 1 Lunch Chair Yoga: This 40 minute class is practiced sitting or standing using a chair. Students can wear their work clothes. The class includes gentle stretches that target stress in the shoulders, hands and back. Others that can greatly benefit from this class are people suffering from Multiple Sclerosis, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and other debilitating diseases that would keep them from practicing on the floor.
Spiritual Restorative New Format! Mondays 12:10 – 12:50
You probably have had a time when you felt deep stillness, calmness, peace and joy. But for most of us it is rare and difficult to achieve. Glenn Ballantyne makes it easy on Mondays. This is no longer your father’s meditation class. Glenn has transformed this class from meditation to Spiritual Restorative because it delivers more of what we need at noon on a Monday. You will experience a sacred space softly vibrating with soul lifting music, visualizations, poetry, lighting, music (live), bolsters, blankets and sacred stories. You’ll find that your blood pressure will drop and your spirit will be set free to soar to the heavens.
Meditation Class: Students will learn and explore ancient and modern scientific meditation techniques for gaining deep rest, decreasing stress, anxiety and blood pressure, improving health, and creating true peace, happiness and understanding.
Students don’t need experience with meditation or to have taken any yoga classes. The class is open to students any age or physical condition. All religious faiths are welcome, and chairs and mats are provided.

Levels 1 & 2
These levels are for students who are able to take his or her yoga practice to a stronger degree. Beginners can start in these classes at any time if they are in fair to good physical condition. Students are always encouraged to practice at his or her own pace. Classical Hatha Yoga breathing techniques are emphasized and back bends and inversions such as head and shoulder stands are introduced to students who feel ready.
Level 3
This level is a Vinyasa format and includes moderate to strong yoga routines. Sun salutations A and B flow from pose to pose. Level 3 classes are lead with some guidance and not taught. The student needs a familiarity with a wide variety of postures. It is suggested that an additional teaching class be included during the week so that the student can then concentrate mainly on proper form and alignment and build strength and endurance in each pose.
